French Tri-Colour

The march of the pousse-cafés continues with this drink, about which Baker has nothing whatsoever to say. I’ll reproduce his entry for this drink in full, verbatim:

One third each of: Grenadine, maraschino, Crème Yvette.

This is almost certainly the shortest entry in Baker’s book. So how does the resulting drink taste? In a word: Sweet. Wretchedly, sickeningly, appallingly sweet. I mean, who wants to drink straight grenadine? And to make matters worse, it doesn’t even look particularly similar to the French tricolor flag.

As you’ll see from the photo, I didn’t quite get the layering right on this one, but I’ll be damned if I was going to make more than one of these.

Not recommended.
